Hi everyone..
I hope everyone is doing there best to keep well, its a very worrying time for us diabetics (as well as similar cases)
I live in a small town nr Peterborough, and im amazed at people still going about there usual business as if nothings
to worry about ??
They may feel fit and healthy, but can still pass on this dreadful virus to me, you or your kids !
Anyway, ill have more to say in the right places in this forum no doubt..

Thanks for having me... 1*Needle

Hi @1*Needle - welcome to the forum. You will see many threads and concerns on here over this dreaded virus. How's your diabetes going? all ok ?

Hi Tee G.. Yes my diabetes is not to bad thanks, the only thing I don't like at the moment is the gradual
increase in my weight, im about 12 st and don't want to go any higher.. I used to always be out walking
my dog miles around my local nature reserve, that worked keeping my weight in check, and for the dog too !

Hi again, im glad things are under control where your diabetes is concerned - If ever you have any worries, just post up a question, & someone will be along to give you guidance/advice.

As far as the weight gain goes, I can understand how difficult it is to keep it maintained whilst we are being so restricted. I have found I pop out after dinner (or early morning) when no one is around for my brisk walkabout. Other than that i do a little YouTube exercise programme (many on there to choose from) Maybe you will be able to find something that suits your abilities.

It is understandably a worrying time.
I found the latest update from DUK useful

For exercise I have fished out a skipping rope!
A good workout in the garden, along with some Pilates to keep flexibility and stretch.

Glad to have you with us 🙂

Personally (even though I’m a city dweller) I don’t see too much risk in 2x daily dog walks. I am relying on the suggestion that for face-to-face virus transfer you need to spend about 15 minutes within 5 feet of someone, so I think the handful of people I walk past don’t carry much risk even if they were full-on virus infected.

Im noticing passers by are passing by with a little more room for the most part where I live too.

Im careful not to touch my face while out, and wash hands then I get back in though!

When we last walked over the fields on Tuesday people we passed kept their distance but still managed a hello. This is on the edge of a Woodland Trust Nature Reserve. Did notice a few golfers playing golf on the nearby golf course.
