Hi, I just joined the forum after being diagnosed with type 2 recently, the diagnosis was a bit of a shock but now I’m looking to get as much info as possible, I’ve started on meds (metformin, losartan and statin) and am trying to make realistic lifestyle changes to hopefully keep my sugar levels where they should be for the future.

This will be the first time in years that I won’t be starting Christmas day with several segments from a chocolate orange but I’m sure I’ll be fine without it

Hello @AnneHS, welcome to the Forum.

The results you posted in your other thread look as if you have already made some positive changes but you may find this link helpful in giving you some ideas for a way of modifying your diet. https://www.freshwell.co.uk/

There is no need to deprive yourself of the occasional treats like chocolate but choosing dark choc is better than milk or ones with sickly fillings.

Welcome! Its Christmas, instead of banning yourself have one segment instead of several. I used to scoff a whole tin of Quality Street over xmas and boxing day, last night because my meal was low carb and kind to me, (5.4 after 2 hrs) I treated myself to two Quality Street chocs, the purple one and an orange one, lol!
