Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi all, Diagnosed in 2012 with type 2, Diet and exercise helped get my HBA1C to 6.2 3 years ago, It then crept up to 6.5 a year ago but due to me being a total idiot I now have a reading of 7.2.
Started a diet and exercise a week ago when my blood sugars were regularly between 9.0 & 12.5, In a week I now have them between 5.6 and 8.2 so somethings working hopefully.
Have also lost 2.5kg in the last week.

The diabetic nurse wanted me to go onto medication straight away but the doctor has given me 3 months to get things under control naturally so am working hard now to achieve that goal.

I know I have to stick to this now regardless so am looking forward being part of the forum and getting more tips and advice.

Hi Rob and welcome to the forum.

Hi Robk , welcome.

Welcome

Hi Robk
Welcome aboard, hope you find it useful 🙂. Diet and exercise can be a really powerful tool in diabetes management and it sounds like you're going great guns so well done for taking up the challenge especially in the gloomy early months of the year (I practically have to peel myself of the sofa 🙄). There are plenty of members here who control with diet and exercise so there's lots of advice and personal strategies around so do ask questions (it's a little goldmine of information this forum). Do be aware though that we all have different strategies, diets and lifestyles and one size doesn't fit all, but that's part of the joy really, listening to how others do things and seeing which bits if any you can use 🙂

Hi Rob,
warm welcome from me to this wonderful forum.
