Diagnosed as Pre-Diabetic in October 2017 and enrolled on the Healthier You NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme which started later that month. Hopefully caught in the nick of time and the wake up call I needed to finally do something about my weight, health and fitness. I have been a regular visitor to the forums to get some more ideas on what to eat and have dramatically re-jigged my diet as a result cutting out loads of the rubbish I used to eat. I have taken up swimming as well. I've managed to lose very nearly 2st, dropped a couple of waist sizes and signed up for SWIM22. Martin

Hi Martin, great to hear from you. Sounds like you’ve made some pretty major changes there and seen good results already!

Thanks, I have to admit to coming home and downing a bottle of red wine after that diagnosis of pre-diabetes. I then had a good mooch around this forum to see what people ate to reduce their carb intake and went from there. I should be grateful that my local GPs are very proactive and referred me straight away to the prevention programme. Going to the meetings regularly helps to keep me focussed. Will be due another blood test soon so will be interesting to see if the improved diet, weight loss and extra exercise has made a difference.

Welcome Martin. Sounds like you're definitely heading in the right direction, you've done really well so far 🙂

Congratulations Martin, great result

This is the BEST place for information and great for mooching. You learn a lot from others experience
