Just wanted to say hi to everyone, ive been a type one diabetic for a few years now and recently i've been lurking around the threads but didn't have the courage to sign up and post. I have to say though you all seem like wonderful people and I would be honoured to become a part of your community. I don't really know what else to say except I'm on an insulin pump and shes called Carrie Allie and I'm a massive hello kitty fan (childish I know but I just love cute.)So hi and pleased to meet you all from Lucy and Carrie 😛 xxx

Hi Lucy and Carrie

good to have you on board, feel free to ask any questions you want, or have a rant when needed.

Rachel

I'm sure you will find tons of support here as I have....well done for making the first step!!

Also feel free to check out http://www.circledrocks.co.uk it's my social group for 18-30's with diabetes, if you don't fit the age bracket we are having an 'open to all' social in April which you are more than welcome to attend :D

Welcome!

Hi Lucy, welcome to the forum.

Thank you all so very very much :D What a wonderfully friendly bunch you all are, your kindness has almost brought tears to my eyes. Forgive me if I sound over dramatic as I'm sure I most probably will at times, I'm just so relieved to find some people that will understand me. I don't know any other diabetic people and have experienced quite a few issues with people thinking I'm strange because of the diabetes recently.

Hi there dont worry we are all in the same boat here whatever type .We all have the diabetes in common and your in no danger of being thought of as strange in here. Those people who think your strange dont matter hun there small minded and not worth your worry. xx

Hi Lucy, welcome to the forum🙂 Glad that you took the plunge and joined us, no worries about feeling 'strange' any more!:D

Thanks again everyone 🙂 and yeah I think you should name your meters! 😛 Blame it all on my silly sense of fun but my old meter was named Mr Tananka after a character from Memoirs of a Geisha. My new meter however doesnt have a name .....yet! Naming equipment is one of my little diabetes bright sides i have to admit 🙂

Welcome aboard Kitty, glad you signed on the dotted line! You sound like you're getting along fine, and hopefully this place can help you whenever you need it and vice versa! I must admit I am now tempted to name my pens!!

Welcome Lucy & Carrie:D, hope you will feel at home here. If there is anything you need to talk about, just pop a message on the forums and someone will help you.
Kind Regards
Steven Mortimer(type 1 Diabetic from 26/1/2010)
