Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hi guys, I've just registered so thought I'd say hello, I've had type 1 diabetes for about 8 years now. A huge shock at first, it appeared over the space of about a week, but now it most certainly lives with me rather than me living with it. I did DAFNE about six months after I was diagnosed which made a huge difference to me. I've got three children, two of which were born before I had diabetes and one born since I've had diabetes and unlike all the myths, she wasn't huge, just 6lbs 7oz, smaller than the other two, so managing your diabetes during pregnancy is possible!

Hi allison, I just joined here today too and have had diabetes for nearly 9 years now, soemtimes it feels like forever and sometimes I can't believe it's been that long!I haven't done DAFNE, but I carb count and follow the principles and find it gives me great control. I think everyone should have access to the course, or be taught the information in another way.

Welcome!

To you both- glad to see you have joined in and look forward to your posts 🙂
