Relationship to Diabetes
MODY
Hi i got diagnosed with diabetes nearly 2 years ago. I am seen as bit of an odd case haha, a recent c-peptide test said that i was type 2. However all doctors are baffled as i am only 19 years old and not over weight? There looking into MODY?
I have never had good control over my diabetes and i always have a high sugar, i also show ketones in my urine but there not acidic. I am currently on 24 units of slow acting insulin am/pm, as well as metformin am/pm and i have just recently started carb counting on a 1:1 ratio. Any advice anyone?

Hello Laura and welcome to the forum.🙂
I hope they manage to sort out which type you are and treat you accordingly. Sounds as if they are trying to hep with starting you on carb counting.

No advice just wanted to say welcome to the forum.

Keep looking in and someone will be along soon

Hello again Laura, It might be worth looking at the Royal Devon and Exeter research dept. They have a huge diabetes research centre there head man is or was Prof Hatesley. They were doing a lot of research into MODY.
