Hi @Dynamo and welcome to the forum.
It's difficult to know what to say to you without knowing your situation.
Why don't you tell us a little about yourself: How you came to be diagnosed, HbA1C at diagnosis, current HbA1C, how you control your T2, medications etc. And any diabetes related questions you have.

Hi. I’ve had type two diabetes for five years plus. All of the technical details I’m still not aware of and all the technical details Gobley goop. I will look through the details of your message and hopefully try to understand where I am within my Diabetic future. Thank you

On top of my diabetes I have personal issues transcend the physical issues. I’ve lost many family members, five in total including my father in the last 12 months. Managing my diabetes and other addictions has become a real issue for me. I hope that reaching out to this forum will help to guide me and change the way that I am treating my diabetes going forward.

Thank you

Hi Dynamo, welcome to the forum.

So sorry to hear about what you’ve been through recently. That’s a lot to deal with so I’m glad you joined for additional support.

It can be challenging to get your head around all that’s involved with managing diabetes but do keep reading the forum and asking questions and well do our best to help.

Thank you. I was really hoping in this forum that I may find ways of managing my type 2 diabetes and even reversing it and coming off of my medications?

I’ve just turned 45, but have other underlining health problems that I’m told could benefit from a positive diet and exercise?

Any support right now would really be appreciated xxxx

As you may or may not know diabetes is diagnosed by an HbA1C blood test taken from your arm, this shows the average blood glucose level over the previous three months and a level of 48mmol/mol and above gives you a diabetes diagnosis. It does not tell you if you are Type 1 or Type 2 and further tests would be required if clinical symptoms suggest Type 1.
The important thing in managing the condition is to reduce your carbohydrate intake to a amount that your body can cope with as all carbohydrates convert to glucose. That does not mean that you need to have NO carbs but watching how much of the high carb foods and substituting with meat, fish, eggs, cheese, dairy, vegetables, salads and fruits like berries.
Have a look at this link as it is a good explanation of managing Type 2 diabetes with a low carb approach. https://lowcarbfreshwell.co.uk/
However how much work you need to do will depend on where you are on the diabetic scale, if just into the diabetic zone then some modest dietary changes might be sufficient and increasing exercise/activity if you can will help.
