Type 2
Just popping in to say hi’ya to everyone

60yr old guy here with type 2 diabetes, I was diagnosed around 5/6 yrs ago maybe a tad longer now but not sure.
I was told i have diabetes because i have stage 3 kidney disease? ... who knows! Anyway, I’m a non smoker, non drinker, slim build and have always exercised and kept myself reasonably fit.
The meds i take make me rattle every morning but for my diabetes i take 5mg of Linigliptin, other meds are because ive recently had a heart attack.
So, that pretty much sums me up really. Feel free to say hello

Morning @Pomster and welcome to the forum where you will find a number of members (me included) with a type 2 diagnosis that does not fit the stereotype! Ask questions, join in the banter, vent your frustrations or whatever you want. You will find on here people who will know exactly where you are coming from.

Welcome to the forum @Pomster

There are all sorts here on the forum… some ‘classic‘ versions of the vanilla T1 and T2 varieties… some more rare, glamorous, and esoteric options like MODY and T3c, some who begin as one thing, and then end up being something else entirely, some slow-burning LADA types, and still others who just don’t fit into any box and have the medical brains scratching their noggins!

Sorry to hear about your kidneys - not quite sure what goes into Stage 3, but hope there are effective treatments, and that you are able to keep things from progressing or at least, slow things down as much as you can?

How have you been finding the Linagliptin? Are you and your Dr happy with your BG management?

Fire away with any questions you have, or simply use this as a safe space to vent and offload 🙂

To be honest the Linagliptin seems ok, i don't think I've any side affects not that I've noticed anyway.
