At risk of diabetes
Hi, nice to meet you all.
My name is Vangellis, (Roger Vangellis)
And I live in the UK, in the City of Newport. I am 68 years old; I have 2 children who are now both married with children of their own, they have also gifted me with three beautiful grandchildren (all girls) who I adore.
My wife and I split up about a year ago, and she has moved out of the home. (Halleluiah)
I now live alone; I am registered severely disabled and housebound; this is due to me having heart failure and COPD, with the COPD being very annoying as I have never smoked anything at all in my life.
Sometimes I get very depressed because I can no longer do simple things that I used to do, because of COPD.
Simple little things such as hoovering the front room, I have to sit down and catch my breath two or three times. I find it difficult to walk the 8 feet to the kettle to make myself a cup of tea, but I suppose I shouldn't complain as I know scores of people who are far worse than me.
To be honest, I feel very lonely at times, and with the Covid19 lockdown, it certainly makes this worse,
but obviously that is beyond my control.
I consider myself to be a down to earth and very easy-going type of person.
My children tell me I am over generous, but I don't care 🙂)
Thank you for reading.
Vangellis
Ps, please forgive my avatar picture, it is because I consider them to be the most majestic animal on earth.

Hello, and welcome.
How did you find out you were at risk of diabetes?
What is your usual diet like?
I am just a year or so older than yourself, and am most thankful to be as well as I am - I have five grandchildren, and they are a lively bunch. I am missing them a lot this year, but hope that things will come right in the future.

Welcome to the forum Vangellis
