Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
hi everybody my name is jonny I am 39 years old and I work in plastic recycling . I have recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.and I am feeling a little lost and overwhelmed.

Hi Jonny and welcome, im glad you found the forum as you can ask anything and also share your fears here.
Anything in particular your feeling lost with?

Welcome to the forum @jonny the hog

Sorry to hear you are feeling lost and overwhelmed - but it’s a perfectly natural reaction.

Try not to be disheartened about your diagnosis, many people on the forum later reflect that their diagnosis became a catalyst which prompted them to make positive changes towards a healthier and more active life.

Diabetes is a serious condition, but it’s also one that can usually be managed well with a few changes and adaptations - it’s something that you can learn to live well with, and it shouldn’t stop you doing things you enjoy.

When it comes to managing your diabetes, it’s best to make changes to your menu and activity levels gradually - partly because they need to be sustainable long term, but also because very rapid and sudden changes to blood glucose levels can actually cause problems with some parts of the body including eyes and nerves

Hope you bounce back to feeling more like yourself soon. 🙂
