Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
🙂 I'd just like to say 'hello' am new to this site though have been type two for 3+ years. It will be good to see what is being said by people 'in the know' about diabetes first hand from their own experience as I get more than enough ignorant and ill informed comments elsewhere.

It can be hard not to feel like the 'odd one out' as so many people seem to think type two is self- inflicted. (or is it just me that gets those kind of prejudiced comments???)

Hi there bear and a warm welcome to the forum, your far from alone when you mention those kind of comments it can be very hurtful but i have learnt to rise above these misinformed prats. xx

Hello and welcome

You will find lots of people here to talk to, so ak away if you have any questions

Hi Glitterbear, welcome to the forum 🙂 You're not alone in getting those kind of comments, unfortunately, and it isn't helped by the government's campaigns that always seem to be pointing the finger at people as though it is entirely their own fault. Whilst a poor diet and lifestyle can contribute to insulin resistance, it's not the cause of diabetes otherwise everyone who was overweight and didn't exercise would get it - and that's clearly not the case.

You are amongst good, caring people here who 'get it', so please feel free to ask any questions you may have - nothing is considered 'silly'! 🙂

Thanks for the welcome

🙂 I'd just like to thank everyone who has welcomed me. I find that very encouraging.
