Hiya,

Just wanted to introduce myself as i am new to the message board.I have been on a pump for 7 years but still cant get my control as good as the doc would like. This has gone to pot for about the last 12 month, bit will keep on going to get this better.

John

Good evening and welcome to the forum John, have yourself a good browse around theres a pumping section on the boards so maybe pop in there.

Hi John and welcome.
I'm not a pumper so can't offer advice but there are plenty of experienced people here to help.

Hi John and welcome!:D

What pump are you on? Do you feel that you use the pump to its full potential? My son is on the veo with sensors - we/he loves it! In 6 months his hba1c has gone down from 9.6 to 7.1 - we are very pleased with it.🙂Bev

Hi John, welcome to the forum 🙂 We have plenty of dedicated pumpers here, so maybe they can help you get the most out of yours. People who have only recently started pumping have been showing great results, so perhaps your knowledge just needs bringing up to date.

I think you may be right. I am looking to put my blood results onto a spreadsheet rather than write them into a book, do you have any advise.

Does your meter have software that you can load on your computer? I got free software and infrared device from Roche for my Accuchek Aviva. It helps you to spot trends and where you might be able to tweak things to improve your results.

Hey John,

Welcome to mad house, erm, I mean the site. We've got a fair few pumpers lurking around and I'll become one of them in a few weeks from now.

Hope we help,

Tom

Hi John,

welcome to the forum.

I've only been on this forum (and my pump) for a few weeks. This place is full of helpful people willing to give support and advice.

With regard to spreadsheets and software, I have the accu-chek compact meter and the accu-chek software. The software is a great tool for spotting trends in your BG readings.
I think it's important to try not to react to every change in BG levels, something which I find very difficult, especially since I've been on the pump. I'm very impatient to get everything spot on. The software certainly helps you see the bigger picture.

Keith.

Hi John,

Welcome!

You must have started pumping when there were way way way fewer people on them?! I bet you have seen some very interesting changes in the last 7 years...

What kind of pump are you on? I use the medtronic veo and I have the software package that came with it, you download your pump by bluetooth and all the data goes straight into their software program- great stuff.

It really helps when you feel abit dispondent, to look over the results presented in all different ways. You can see so much going on.

Hope you are well, and welcome.

Lou x
