Evening all....little about me! I've been a T1 for close to 29 years with decent control for most of it! Mam would have wished that computers and such a website existed back in the 80s....so thank you to whoever came up with this, and those involved in running the site. Keep up the good work folk!

For those diagnosed recently, all I will say is get yourself in to a routine, never forget that it's you that controls your diabetes, not the diabetes controls you.

Hi Maddy, welcome to the forum 🙂 29 years eh? I bet you've seen a thing or two over the years! Good to hear that you have good control - are you injecting or pumping?

Started initially on one injection a day, then two! Became extremely competitive in sport so was swapped to 4 with the pens, and not having to take my injections same time every day....flexibility at last! I remember the days of using proper syringes (when diabetics had to pay for them) and flicking a bottle of insulin to remove the air 🙂 And yes I've seen a few things change! Makes me sound an antique now.

Hi Maddy a warm welcome form me to the forum x

Welcome to the forum Maddy! 🙂 x

Hi Maddy. A few of us old timers on now. :D

I was never the sporty type but my parents would have found this forum so much better than the odd article in balance and half-educated doctors. 🙄

Welcome Maddy I'm a newbie to the site and diabetes and I've learned loads in the short time I've been using the site. You'll find everyone vey friendly and helpful

Hello Maddy,

Welcome to the mad house. We don't bite, really. I've been at this for fourteen years. I've been pumping eight months.

Tom

Another warm welcome from me 🙂

I too can remember syringes & dialling up the clear/cloudy dose manually. It's astonishing how far we've come - I've now been pumping for 18 months!

Hi Maddy and welcome to forum. I'm a newly diagnosed T2. Lots of support and information here.
