Relationship to Diabetes

So a couple of month ago I was a happy, fit NHS Porter enjoying my semi retirement.
3 weeks ago due to what I thought was Arthritis pains I had some blood tests and up popped my Diabetes diagnosis.
So this is all a bit new, however I am enjoying my new diet regime and feel a lot less sluggish than I used to.

One of the things that does confuse me is the many conflicting opinions of health professionals, so I thought I'd come here and speak to the experts, you lot, the people who live with it day to day.

Hello and welcome.
Would you like to tell us a bit about yourself, so we can best answer any questions you may have. For example, are you on medication, what exercise do you do, are you a healthy weight. I can see from your post you are already addressing your eating patterns. No question is stupid - we all started where you are now, and probably asked them!

Welcome to the forum @1Zombie7

Glad to hear you've been feeling less sluggish already. Sometimes the fatigue and low mood that can accompany elevated glucose levels creep up on people, and it's only when they start to lift that you realise how tired and warn down you've been feeling.

Have you settled on a diabetes management system that is working for you? When do you have a follow-up appointment to check your progress (a follow-up HbA1c would usually be at least 3 months apart)
