At risk of diabetes
Ive just joined here today hoping I can get some help and advise.
I had a routine blood test a couple of weeks ago , thought everything was ok then received a letter from my doctor saying I was pre diabetic, so here I am lol.
I walk twice with my dog most days, I eat healthy (or I thought I did ). My only concern I think would be my BMI, it’s 27 so I’m assuming I have to lose weight , so you’ll probably see me pop up on any weight loss, exercise, or healthy eating thread.

Welcome to the forum @Siouxsee

Sorry to hear you have been told you are at risk of diabetes. Do you have anyone with diabetes in your close family?

Were you given the result of your HbA1c? This will have been a number between 42 and 47mmol/L. It can help you understand where you are on the diabetes spectrum.

It could be that only some fairly modest tweaks and changes could be enough to steer your BG levels away from a diabetes diagnosis. Many members here find that moderating their total carbohydrate intake (all carbs, not just ‘of which sugars’) can be a very helpful strategy.

Good to hear you are active with your dog. That will really help too 🙂
