Welcome to the forums 🙂

Hopefully insulin will help keep things under control or you.

If you have any questions, just ask away, nothing is too silly 😉 It's okay to talk about fears and worries as well as practical things. People do understand.
There is much combined knowledge on here and I have personally had a heap of helpful hints and tips and support from the community.
If you do have questions, always mention the insulin name (including any letters or numbers after the name) as they can be different insulin types and have different profiles and active times.

Have you had hypo treatment explained to you properly? I (or others) can give you the full run down if you are at all unsure.

Yes, Welcome. Injecting insulin sounds worse than it actually is. Needles are sharp and thin and almost slip in without any pain. It also gives you direct control over you blood sugar levels. Good luck
Thank you

Thank you, I have an appointment with our practice Diabetic nurse next week to explain all

For hypos, if you inject too much insulin, you will want to get some glucose/dextrose tablets, sold as "energy" tablets in chemists and I keep the old fashioned sugary Lucozade next to the bed.
Already have them and tubes of hypo stop

Welcome, and do ask any questions. If you drive, you will need to notify the DVLA and apply for a medically restricted licence, and familiarise yourself with the rules around driving when taking insulin. There is a page on the diabetes uk website about this if relevant to you.
