Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Very recently i've been noticing a numbness in my right thigh and a strange tight muscle in my back has anyone else experienced this ? and how can you help to stop it ?

What does your GP say? - it isn't a side effect of diabetes whatever it is - and sounds to me to be typical signs of a trapped and/or damaged sciatic nerve, frankly - but I am only suggesting that because my first husband slipped a disc and had those symptoms.

Ring the GP surgery on Monday and get an appointment.

Hi @stevek57 and welcome to to the forum.

As Jenny says those are symptoms that I have not heard linked to Diabetes. However they are the same as mine when I had of trapped nerves in my spine. Well worth a call to your GP?

i agree with Jenny and SB2015. Call your GP as soon as.

Welcome to the forum @stevek57

Hope you get to the bottom of your numbness, sounds uncomfortable to say the least!

I think if it were due to changes to nerves as a result of diabetes it would usually occur in both legs at the same time?

How do you manage your diabetes? Do you take medication to help with your blood glucose levels? Have you been diagnosed for a while, or is it something fairly recent for you? Do you find it helps your blood glucose management to moderate your carbohydrate intake?
