hey there, im 17 and just been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. i only found out from my best mate doin a test and i was up at 26.8. very shocked! i went to the doctors the next day and they sent me in to hospita straight away and all i kept sayin to my dad was 'my exams!!!!'. my blood sugar was off the scale by then, but by 6 30 i was out of the hospital and on insulin. its still not regular and is still in the 20's sometimes. the hospital keep checking up on me as one of the nurses has a soft spot for me 🙂 im on about 6 injections a day and cant really get my head around the fact that i have it as noone in my family does. im very active as i dance everyday so its very hard. if anyone has any advice it would be very welcome.

Hi Lauren, welcome! There's a lot to take in at first, but it does start to make some sort of sense after a while, and hopefully you will get a good handle on things. There are people here of all ages and I'm sure they'll be able to answer any questions you might have🙂
