Hi all,

I have just stumbled across this site and am really enjoying reading everyones posts and experiences. It is really nice to finally find somewhere you can talk to people who understand and can hopefully answer some of my questions.
I was diagosed type 1 in December and to be honest am still getting my head around it all.
Really looking forward to learning more and chatting to you all!

Welcome to the board, I'm sure you'll get a lot out of it, there's a lot of people with a range of experiences of diabetes.

welcome, and you sure will learn a lot, and feel free to ask any type of questions you'll be amazed how helpful these peeps can be, only diagnosed in November myself and I know what you mean!

Hi Everyone!! & Circle D

Hi there, Ive just found this fab website 🙂

Im 25 and have had type 1 for 6 years now, it can be such a nightmare at times!!!

I run a fab group called Circle D, we are a 18-30's Diabetes support group based in Kent, we meet to talk but also socialise lots..we have run events and awareness days too...we get so much out of talking to each other, it helps you to feel lots less alone!! We have been bowling, clubbing and out for meals amongst other things...its great :0)

Our website is www.circledrocks.co.uk if you want to have a look :D or feel free to email me at shelb1uk@yahoo.co.uk...

I have done the DAFNE course which was life changing and I also Volunteer for Diabetes UK...

Hi Shelley, and welcome!🙂 I'm a bit outside your age range at 50, but I think it's great what you're doing with your support group - I think nothing beats face to face interaction with other people affected by diabetes, so well done!🙂

Hi Shelley

I was wondering when you would appear round here!

Hope you are well? I was actually planning to catch up with you for a bit of chat about the group we're trying to get going round here, the 3D course stuff all went a bit pear shaped! I'll try to send you a message through fb tonight.

Welcome to DS, talking to others really does help and i've learnt far more from other diabetics than I have from my healthcare team
