Welcome to the forum, I hope you get the opportunity to look around, there are plenty of different threads discussing various aspects of how people manage their condition and seeking help with various issues they may be having be it with diet, technology or things just 'not being right'
Would you like to share a bit about how you manage your condition.

Welcome @Carl G 🙂 How long have you had Type 1?
Hi there had it about 3 years now but they thought I was type 1 about 14 years ago I was in hospital for over a week to try and control my levels. My sugars are always high currently in the libre 2 app it says12.2 or 110mmol so really getting frustrated with this now.

About 3/4 years now. I was thought to be type 1 about 14 years ago and was in hospital for just over a week trying to get my levels under control. Then I was told I was fine and took off insulin and about 6/7 years ago I was told I was type 2 and then and then to be told I'm type 1 again.

Hi and welcome from me too.

So are you saying that you have had diabetes for 14 years and have been on oral (Type 2) meds after they took you off insulin or did your levels settle down to non diabetic results and then flare up again a few years ago when you were started back on insulin? I hope you haven't been left battling high BG levels during that interim period without insulin. It seems like your support and treatment has not been as thorough as it should have been over the years.

Which insulins are you using and have you been offered an intensive education course like DAFNE? (Dose Adjustment For Normal Eating) Good to hear you have Libre.
Are you carb counting and adjusting your doses?
Have you been taught how to use your insulin to do corrections?

12.2 is a bit above range but not desperately high if it is a post meal spike, but higher than ideal if you are frequently running at that sort of level. What sort of Time in Range (TIR) is Libre showing for the past week?

What sort of HbA1c results have you been getting over the years?

Sorry for all the questions. Please feel free to ignore any you are not comfortable answering and ask for clarification if you don't understand any of them. The more information you can tell us about your situation the more appropriate our replies will be.

12.2 isn’t 110 mmol. Are you looking at the a1c page not your average glucose?

That sounds very frustrating and weird. What insulins are you taking @Carl G ? You say your blood sugar is around 12 - is that your HbA1C? It sounds like you haven’t got much support to get your sugars down.

Sorry to hear you’ve had such a rough ride, and such a confusing time @Carl G

Swapping and changing your diagnosis, and treatment like that must have been really frustrating - especially if your BGs have been fluctuating so widely :(

Are you seen at a hospital clinic? Or at your GPs?

Hopefully you can now start adjusting your insulin doses to bring your BGs gently back towards the recommended ranges more of the time. Are you carb counting and adjusting doses yourself?
