Welcome back, do ask any questions and I'm sure people will try to help. What insulins are you taking and do you have any technology to help you keep track.
I expect you have seen some changes in 18 years. @rebrascora I believe is in the North East.

Yep, I had a similar episode with the “short sharp shock” a few years back? (With the eyes.) Though not retinopathy. (It did involve some treatment.)

Tempted to kick myself when I found out “too much, too quick.”
I am liking your positivity. Live, learn. Don’t ever beat yourself down.

Welcome back to the forum, from another 780/Guardian 4 user.
Are you using it in Smartguard/closed loop?

Well done on making a new start with your diabetes.
Fire away with any questions.

I am using in as closed loop in smart guard it’s crazy how stable sugars are from being
on injections

Hi, and welcome back to the forum from me too.

As has been mentioned, I am in the North East, near Consett.
Good to hear that you have reengaged with your diabetes and wonderful that you are now closed looping with Medtronic. I am happy on MDI but a young friend from my DAFNE course has just upgraded to that system and she is finding it a huge improvement too. I aslo see from another post that you are using Lyumjev after Fiasp wasn't very "quick" for you. I was discouraged from trying Lyumjev as it was felt that if Fiasp wasn't working quickly, Lyumjev probably wouldn't be any faster either, so really interested to hear that you are finding Lyumjev speedy when Fiuasp wasn't. Out of curiosity, which clinic do you attend here in the North East?

Hope the laser work on your eyes is successful.

I took some time to trust it to do all that I had done, but now would not want to go back to manual. There is thread in pumping for 780 users which might give you some tips, but just ask any questions as they arise.

I found exercise a bit of a pain at the start but found workarounds that work for me. Medtronic produce some webinars about using Smartguard which are useful too.

Just read @rebrascora ’s post about Lyumjev. Did you start with Lyumjev when you first started in 780. I would be interested to know if you have any comparison. Like Rebrascora I didn’t get on with FIASP so reluctant to try others but still a possibility.

Welcome back. 🙂 I'm in Sale, Cheshire not far from Manchester just over the Mersey. It's posher this side. :D

Ah! I did wonder if Lyumjev was authorized for use in pumps yet with it being relatively new on the market. I did pick it up right that you found the Lyumjev much faster than Fiasp when you were injecting though? Just wondering if it is worth giving it a go as I need about 45 mins prebolus time on a morning with Fiasp and 15-20 mins at other times. That said, I have found routines to make this work and I average over 90% TIR so it might involve changing routines again to make Lyumjev work and probably some hypoing until I got into the swing of it if it is indeed faster.
Did you have any reservations or dislikes about Lyumjev? Did you have any difficulties sourcing it as some people have reported some pharmacies having difficulty with supplies.

With you being on Medtronic I just wondered if you might be at Durham clinic, because I believe that is the only pump they offer, which was why I asked. I have a gut feeling that Durham may not want to prescribe Lyumjev (perhaps it's not on their prescribing list) which again was why I was curious of which clinic you attended.

Lyumjev has been very good for me when I was on pens because I was building up a bit resistance are used to take it soon as I ate to be greatly honest, it was instant.

I still lyumjev now as correction pen if needed if my sugars are dropping or go high

I also moved from Levemir background insulin to tresiba 100 then to tresiba 200 and wow that was really big change in my sugars during day and night
