Hey i am new on here and just started a diet with meal replacement shakes and it has helped lower my bloods from 15/16 every day down to between 7/10 but it has given me a really upset stomach for a few days does anyone know how to deal with this

Welcome to the forum, Carrieann1289. Are you eating anything apart from meal replacement shakes? Might it be easier on your stomach to break yourself in gently, by replacing one meal for a few days, then two, then three?

I have a slice of toast with my shake in the morning a shake at lunch and a full meal about 5pm then fruit if i want a snack i have been doing the diet for 2 weeks now and it has only really started to affect my belly now

Hi and welcome to the forum :D

Hi and welcome to the forum. Can't really advise you on the shake side of things I'm afraid.

Hi and welcome to the forum

Welcome to the forum, if the metformin is upsetting you check to see if its the slow or modified release version as that is more gentle on one. Did you stop taking it on doctors advise, as metformin does help, though they normally start you on a dose of one tablet a day or one in the morning and night so you become accustomed to it, before building it up to the max dose.

I have been on the std metformin for around 16 years, and was changed to the slow release version a short while ago and even after all that time on the normal version, I noticed there is a difference on how one feels taking it.
