Type 1
I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2002, but this my first time posting on a diabetes forum. I'd like to make new friends here and share my experience as a diabetic. 🙂

I've been experimenting with cooking different recipes lately during lockdown, so I also hope to get some food ideas!

Hi and welcome from me too.

How are you managing your diabetes? Which insulins are you using and are you on MDI or a pump? Do you have Freestyle Libre?
Experimenting with cooking sounds good..... what have you made recently? Many people have taken the opportunity of having more time during lockdown to cook healthy food from scratch and get more exercise whilst others have sadly found it all too stressful and reverted to comfort eating because they have been confined to the house.

Look forward to hearing more about you. Make yourself at home. I can recommend the "Group 7-day waking average" thread as a great place to get to know a few people and become part of the community. It is a very long thread so don't feel you have to try to read it all before posting... just jump in with your morning fasting reading and any other snippets of news you might like to share. There is also a "What did you eat yesterday?" thread which might give you some ideas although it is sometimes as much about confessing sins as recommending recipes. That said we have some members who are inspirational low carb bakers who make all sorts of fabulous breads and cakes.

Hiya - there are a lot of us about!

Thank you for welcoming me everybody. 🙂

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll have a read through those threads and get involved.

I'm on MDI (NovoRapid and Tresiba), and have been using the Libre since the beginning of the year. I feel like I manage diabetes quite well, the Libre has certainly helped me iron out the bumps. Don't think I could live without it now!

Hello and welcome @cameron, glad you’ve joined us🙂

Joining this forum has helped me so much with ideas and tips to improve my control & I’ve made some lovely friends too virtually & in person. I hope it helps you as much.🙂 Good to read the Libre has helped so much.
