Hi and welcome.

How long have you been diagnosed? Would you like to tell us a bit about how you came to be diagnosed ie. symptomatic and if so which symptoms or was it picked up by a routine blood test? Have they given you any medication to treat your diabetes or are you trying lifestyle changes ie dietary changes and increased activity? Do you know your HbA1c result? This is the blood test which is used to diagnose diabetes and will usually be a number in excess of 47, but can be into 3 figures if things have gone rather more significantly awry. knowing that result, gives you the starting point for your journey with diabetes and helps you and your medical professionals to track your progress... hopefully positive progress :D

Anyway, we look forward to hearing more from you and if you have any questions please feel free to ask. We all remember how overwhelming it was at the start and how much information the Dr or nurse gave us that in one ear and out of the other. The forum is great for filling in the blanks and asking all those things you never thought to ask the nurse/Dr in that relatively short appointment..... assuming you have even had an appointment yet!
