THE number of NHS health check appointments offered to and taken up by Hertfordshire residents is at the highest level since the programme started in April 2009.
The NHS health check is given free to residents aged between 40 and 74 who do not already have a pre-existing condition and aims to identify those at risk of serious, but potentially avoidable, conditions such as diabetes and heart disease.
