A HERTFORD man has overcome powerful storms, a broken rudder and an encounter with a shark to row across the Atlantic Ocean for charity.
Scott Etherington, 33, of Port Vale, and Swedish rowing partner Viktor Mattsson, 25, spent 61 days at sea.
Scott was aiming to raise ?25,000 for Diabetes UK, the charity partner of Tesco supermarket, where he is a finance manager for clothing at the head office in Welwyn Garden City.
