Hi All,
Yes, I am another new member of this ever growing forum. My experience with Type 1 started in Oct 2009 when my then 9 year old son was diagnosed. He was very ill, ambulance trip, flashing lights, oxygen, drips... the lot. It was an astonishing time of personal growth, understanding, learning and stress! And we have travelled the road of highs and lows since, like most other families.
In Nov 2010, my 14 year old son was also diagnosed, but being more reserved than his younger brother, it was almost matter-of-fact for him. He was even showing the ward nurses how to load the pen.
The last 8 weeks seems to have gone so quickly and yet we have come a long way. But, honestly, to have both of them diagnosed has been quite difficult to come to terms with....and I am keeping my eagle eyes on my two girls, just in case.
