Hi all,
I have tried sourcing a wheelchair for Lee for his challenge - but you cannot hire a sports wheelchair. I have seen one on 'preloved' that costs ?1000. Do you think we could raise this sort of money between us? Is there a way of doing it on facebook? I dont do facebook - so i dont know! I just want to help Lee with his challenge - so if you have any bright ideas - let me know.🙂Bev
 
Its a fantastic idea Bev and really kind of you that you are trying to help him out. I guess we will have to see what he says! 🙂

i have put him on to a specialist wheelchair manufacturer ..does it for the olymics in one of their newsletters they mention helping a guy out on a different 20km challenge by lending him a chair ...i believe lee has emailed them so fingers crossed folks ...also im quite happy to research agents of athetics who might help ...was the name of the wheelcahir marathon gold medal woman tara..tiffy or something ??

just checked their site yep they do help but next appliction consideration is in August ....:(

Hi I am writing for some simple advice ...a friend who had T1 diabetes and suffers from serious neuropathy as a consquence, is aiming to push his chair 20km in june . His cause has been captured in a film shown on the Diabetes UK website at the moment . He is trying to 'borrow' a more suitable chair to do his challenge and so i am hoping you might know where we can start looking ?

Hey everyone.... firstly.... THANKYOU everyone for your support in trying to help me...
WHat have i done so far.. spoke to diabates uk... regional and head office waiting to get back... mailed RDKS who sponser the Uk team..i do have my own wheel chair that i am thinkin gof taking into garage or something as its the front 2 wheels that are the issue.. as soon as you hit the smallest of gradients you go down.. its a bit like zig zagging!!1....and see if they can weld the front wheels so they stay straight....

still chasing

had one reply from the local sports centre.. saying they have passed my email to some colleges... but still not joy yet.... 1 month today!!... oooooooo hahah

anyone heard from them??... my mom has just said that they have mailed her saying the have spoken to me already.. but i havenyt heard anything... wondered if if was anyone from here...xx

yeah i will see if i can see if they will do it for advertising or something as there is press involvement... thank you everyone so far for all you efforts.... fingers crossed 😉 xx
