Hi Matthew,
Do you carb count, you could try that and maybe will bring your levels down slightly. Could try 1 unit of insulin to every 10 carbs for tonight and see how you get on. Please don't feel you can't eat. I use to go through that. If you carb count you can pretty much eat what you like. x

well i really fancy a ice cream but been told i aint alowed cos my leavels are high

Hi Matt, I think that, until you know how to adjust your insulin doses properly, it would be best for you to avoid fast-acting, high carb foods like ice-cream. It can be potentially dangerous to just guess without some guidance and you can end up injecting too much and dropping low or too little and going even higher - then correcting and getting all mixed up with your insulin. You need to be methodical and patient, but that will pay your back big time for the years to come.

Get onto your DSN about a carb-counting course!

could you have something no carb..?? make sure you are drinking lots of water if your not eating so much good luck

I use my fitness pal and hedia to work out injections. It calculates remaining insulin in the system to give an accurate figure.
