Does anyone know if there is a link between diabetes and hair loss in adolescent males?

Welcome to the forum, Jackb.
I've not heard of such a link / association, but I can't say it's something I've considered at any length.
Are you parent of an adolescent male? Is he worrried about hair loss? If he's concerned, that's reason enough for him to ask GP and / or diabetes team.

Hi Jakob, welcome.

No, there is no link between diabetes and hair loss at any age. If it’s male pattern hair loss (receding hair line, hair loss at the top of the head) it’s genetic. There are other conditions that can cause hair loss in adolescents. These tend to cause patchy hair loss. If it is patchy, or it’s a worry, discuss it with the doc.

Hello Jakob, welcome to the forum. 🙂
