Just been clearing out my documents folder and found the renewal forms for my provisional. It seems I should have renewed my provisional back in august 2008 so thats nearly 2 years ago.

Will I still be able to renew it? Or will they make me reapply completely.

Its quite urgent I find out what to do here as I really need to start driving lessons again, and obvioulsy can't without an in date driving license.

Also, address is totally out of date so how do I go about changing it?

the address thing you can change when you renew i should think.

Do you get sent paper bit aswell as photo??

yeah yiu should have a paper bit with it

Hi Sam

Have a look at this page from the DVLA

http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/DriverLicensing/MedicalRulesForDrivers/index.htm

Under the surrendering section there is some info on reapplying after a period of time.If not you should be able to contact them. Last time I renewed it took them longer than they should but they sent me a letter to say that provided I had not been told not to drive by my Dr I was OK to drive. I had to carry that in case stopped by the police. I think that there are copies of most of the medical forms on line -so you can look at what is there.

Sam it may be worth giving them a quick call to clarify the process you need to go through - 0870 240 0009. As it will have been over three years since your last medical report this may be first stage.

they emailed back and just said to send in the forms...so thats on ,my list of things to do over the next few days (need new photos though 😱)
