I discovered I had diabetes type 1.5 about 3years ago..still struggling to get things right ..could anyone advise me..can't understand why I can go to bed on a 6.4 reading and get up to a 14.3

The liver can dump glucose in to the system . When you say get up do you mean before getting out of bed or when you have got out of bed and a little while later , some find there can be a difference between waking and then after been up a short while.
You could do a forum search of Dawn Phenomenon as this can be know as.

Thanks for your reply..I take my sugar level as soon as I get up..I wake quite a lot at night 2am mostly and I have noticed that it starts to rise..I just don't know if there is any way to stop this

If you search the Dawn Phenomenon on the forum search some suggest having a small snack late a night.

Hi. Others here will know for sure, it sounds like dawn phenomenon to me, ive heard that a small snack before bed could help, I'd try a low carb snack.

Mine is always higher when I get up so I Googled and it's a known phenomenon apparently. I was quite relieved.
