I am posting regarding my sister.
She is 24 and a type 1 diabetic. It was only discovered when she used a friends testing kit as the doctor had been treating her for Anemia for some years. Her symptoms at the time were what you would expect and v v moody. When the doctor got her results he personally visited her home because they expected her to be in a coma but she was helping build a wall. She has lost a lot of weight since she was diagnosed 2 years ago. My issue is this. Doctors can't seem to give my sister a specific answer as to what is wrong with her. Her average blood sugar is 15. Yes I know, to high. It's the only time she feels fine and normal. She uses very little insulin and if she uses what she is supposed to she feels awful. She feels how normal diabetics do when sugar is to high. She had a baby last year and whilst pregnant, her blood sugar stabilized and her and the baby were both fine, using none/ very little insulin. A few things have been tossed about in conversation like auto immune diabetes or a scientific anomaly. She's had the different insulin types and its the same story each time. My sister feels happy and healthy but us as a family worry that its silently killing her. Please advise if anyone has info. Thanks
