Can't get my blood sugar Down below 12 I came out hospital Friday and Friday my sugar was 7.0 but now just can't seem get it a lower level I'm eating low carb food no sugary snacks been eating just nuts , and tuna and egg and bacon and seed bread

Hi Oliver.

What insulin are you injecting and when ?

Rob

But have you managed to match your insulin dose to the amount of carb you've eaten ?

I know you've been trying to start carb counting and it can take a long time to get the hang of it.🙂

yeh I matched carb to units of insulin but before even started sat it was high do I need get it down first by injecting few unit then at lunch Time match the carbs with the insulin witch will be at stable lower level as I'm new carb counting haven't been to dietist to teach me I'm just using Internet and started it my self

I would add the correction to the lunchtime injection and do it all at the same time.

If it keeps running high before meals, it may be your basal that needs adjusting.

Thanks rob after all weekend trying getting levels stable finally day got to 11 now at stable 7.5 hopefully stay around there

Guarantee you won't stay at that for long but it's part of the fun! :D

Sadly, there's so many things in everyday life that affect BG levels that you'd need to be comatose to remain completely stable. 🙄

But with time, you learn what to do to adjust for the ups and downs before they become a problem and you can happily sway between 4 and 7. Or more realistically between 3 and 10.🙂
