does nebody have ne ideas to beat the cravings for sweet stuff. i was doing so well but now seem to find it hard resisiting the biscuits and cakes. i know obvious answer wood be not to buy them but i have kids and like to give them a treat now and again

I find that nibbling on something savoury helps take away the craving for sweet stuff - nuts of a piece of cheese, that sort of thing. Eventually, you will lose the craving as your palate adjusts. Not easy to begin with, but worth persevering with in the long run! If you must have something sweet I find sugar-free jellies are perfect - I get the powdered stuff you make up yourself as it's much cheaper than buying the ready-made stuff 🙂

It is a nightmare for sure. I usually try drinking a glass of sugar free squash. I get my sweet fix taste and it fills me up. Sometimes I will have a ryvita with a smear of peanut butter (low sugar one) on it and that does the trick 🙂

after 2 months of no sugar I have found that the cravings have gone. only sweet stuff I eat is fruit..... the peanut butter that I have on my ryvitas or toast has no sugar at all (mentioned in another thread). it is great coz cutting out sugar and doing some exercise for 30 mins a day has resulted in a stone in weight disappearing :D
