Hello, please can I ask for advice, im type 2 and trying to control with diet as I’m not good on the medication, I work in a primary school, I have my breakfast at 7.30am but I don’t get my lunch break until 1pm and by this time I’m struggling, I don’t get a morning break but need snack ideas that I can sneak out of my pocket when I need them but it can’t have nuts, and it gas rove low calorie, any suggestions appreciated
 
I’d eat a bigger breakfast then you don’t need to secretly snack or have a bottle of water
 
under the DDA you dont have to eat in secret they have to make allowances for you If any of the children ask tell them why dont know wot ages you work with but it can be explained in simple terms for any age

Incorporate more healthy fats into your breakfast, full fat Greek yoghurt, eggs, avocado.

But diabetes doesn’t mean you have to snack?

Fair enough if it’s a hypo yes you do, but this doesn’t sound like they’re having hypos as diet controlled so no danger of going too low
 
One of my TA friends can always be relied upon to have snacks in her pockets! She likes to carry jerky, little packs of raisins, babybel cheeses (!) and higher carb options such as pretzels and sweets which aren't useful suggestions. She's thin as a pin and struggles with low blood pressure and she finds it hard to get to lunchtime without pangs of hunger hitting her!
 
When I was diet controlled I used to have nuts and seeds in little packets ready. Still do in case I see a dip coming up.
 
My go-to nibble would be nuts, but as you suggest - many schools don’t allow them on the premises because of allergy risk.

Aiming for something low calorie, BG-friendly and suitable to be carried in a pocket does feel tricky. :(

What are you having for breakfast? Perhaps making that more sustaining so the snack becomes unnecessary is an easier option?
