What can you do to stop having a dry mouth/feeling thirsty when doing any form of activity, even waking up the garden I am in need of a drink

Is it a dry mouth or a raging thirst? A dry mouth will be allieviated by having a few mouthfuls of fluids, a raging thirst will mean that you want to down a whole pint and probably still feel thirsty.... and of course the consequent frequent trips to the loo. The latter is a symptom of very high Blood Glucose (BG) levels and will warrant more serious attention, than a dry mouth which may be down to hormones or medication or straightforward dehydration perhaps. If it is more of a dry mouth, have you tried sucking a sugar free sweet or chewing sugar free gum to see if that helps stimulate your saliva glands and improves the situation?
I have just looked at your intro thread and will respond there shortly, but there is no mention of what,if any, medication you have been prescribed for your diabetes or if you know the diagnostic test result which indicates that you have diabetes. This is the HbA1c test and will usually be a number in excess of 47 but may be into 3 figures if things have gone quite badly awry with your system. Knowing this number is kind of your benchmark for starting your diabetes journey. If it is very high then this may be the cause of your dry mouth, whereas, if just over the threshold, it is much less likely to be responsible for what you are experiencing.
