as previously posted i wasn't happy with my hospital an asked to be referred to Leeds from barnsley BUT..

recently i have had a break through with barnsley morgan had the cgms fitted last week which was handed back in to the hospital on monday morning - they then rang me on tuesday saying they had looked at the results and seen that morgans blood sugars plummit from one extreem to the othere anyhow they made some allterations to the insulin and told me that the form had been sent to the PCT for morgan to have the funding for the insulin pump - i really feel i am getting somewhere with them now - but last night leeds rang me and offered me an appointment on thursday of next week

what do i do??

do i go to leeds even though barnsley have finally got there arses in gear??? & will i be in trouble with leeds if i tell them i no longer want to go??

Hi, I've replied to your post in the pump section but in short, I would keep the appointment in Leeds.

Leeds definitely.

It took Barnsley this long to get their finger out and it shouldn't be 'a form has been in filled in', they should have got a letter done ages ago to get a pump. They obviously do not believe you and they had to see if for themselves on a screen. Leeds are not like that. Leeds are like UCLH where we go. They are one of the top top hospitals for kids with diabetes in the UK. If you get the chance to go to one of these top hospitals, take it with both hands and don't you let go.

Ok Barnsley are getting there, but too damn slow if you ask me. You need a hospital that will work with you not on their own separately from you. I've met Fiona Campbell who is the Leeds doc, she is absolutely marvellous. I heard her speak at the Friends for life conference last year and then collared her afterwards and we had a long chat. She really gets it, and understands.

I personally feel this is not a choice you have to make, it should be Leeds all the way.

I hope that helps.

🙂

thank you i will keep the appointment at leeds
will barnsley hospital already know that we have that appointment? as i dont want them cancelling anything that we are waiting on?
