How high are the ketones? I'm by far no expert - bens only been Ill a few times since dx but if in doubt go to a&e , otherwise drink drink and drink some more. Have you sick day guidelines to follow?

Whenever you're high, due to illness or otherwise, you need to inject to correct.

How much is down to your best judgement based on the sick day rules but being high will slow recovery and compromise your immune system, so try your best to get it down to sensible levels and maintain it.

Usually basal is your best bet because you may not feel like eatign much. As said, drink lots.

If you're alone and struggling, try NHS direct again and don't be afraid to ask for more direct help if you can't get your BGs down. They can send an ambulance if needed, even if they just come and administer insulin for you.🙂

And get well soon.🙂

Alternatively call the out of hours GP service and there is bound to be somewhere you can go for help.

Assuming you're in Norwich at the moment, the Timberhill walk in centre (in Castle Mall) is open until 9pm. I've never had to use it myself but the reports I've had from people who have been there have always been positive.

Hi Vicki - ring NHS direct again. If they can't help try calling your local hospital and see if they can bleep a DSN on call. If you can't get any help and start to have DKA symptoms go to A&E.

Hi everyone!

Ok,ended up going to A&E yesterday and they gave me fluids and stuff as I'd been ill and hadn't been able to eat solid food. But other than that, I'm all good 🙂

Thanks for your help guys!

Vicki 🙂

Thanks for all the good wishes!

And trophywench, I hope you feel better soon!
