Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi, I am type 2, and am trying to follow low carbs. I don't really understand the nutrition guide. It says how many carbs, but underneath says of which sugars. Do I need to take that off the carbs or ignore it. Hope this makes sense.
Thankyou.

Ignore it.

Congratulations and well done, keep on going the way you are and it will soon be two stone.

Thanks. Although I don't mind, the DN said I don't need to lose anymore. I'm 64.1kg and 5ft 2.

Ignore it.

I don’t know. If the portion is 5g of carb “of which” is nearly 5g of sugar.? Then we’re looking at a fast spike jelly baby.

To my mind it is worth taking into consideration the “of which are sugars.” If only to asses what sort of short term kick this might have in relation to the overall carb content?

What people need to consider may be rather different if people are Type 2 and managing their diabetes by diet and /or oral meds than those taking insulin where the as sugars may be more relevant.
