I'm not sure whether or not my battery is running down. The battery sign appears when I first switch on but does not appear on every page. Also about 10 mins. or so after I have tested when I have put the meter back in its case, it pips half a dozen times and switches on. Any ideas please.

Call Abbotts I had this happen and cause im a member of there freinds for life thing i get free control solution and batteries anytime.

I don't have that particular meter, but when the battery symbol comes up on mine it does mean that the battery is running low and needs replacing. Have you registered it with the manufacturers? They usually offer free batteries - I can order new ones for mine online every three months 🙂 If they have a helpline (they usually do) then I would give them a ring 🙂

Mine did a similar thing some months back and I changed out the battery. Haven't had any trouble with it since. But, it's well worth getting in touch with Abbotts, they've always been very helpful when I've had questions.
