I've just tested and found my reading 25.8 I'm quite worried as never been this high before. I feel a bit drunk like, my head is spinning and stuggling to focus.
Had an apple, banana then hour later had a packet of crisps and a slice of tea bread it's now 2 hours since i've eaten.

Any advice on bringing the high down at all?

Saz,
Have you made sure your hand are totally spotless, re test again and see if it was just a dud? I hope your level comes down that is very high for you (((hugs))))

PS drink lots of water

Sorry I can't offer any practical help, (((HUGS))). Hope you feel better soon.

thanks for messages and support, re tested just and now is 6.4. it's 1 half hours since the first test.
I still don't feel right but have drank more water and think it's because I had too much fruit but a bit scary

😱 @ the amount of carbs you ate. The amount and type would make someone on insulin struggle. Glad your numbers have gone down now though.

Fruit doesn't have much of an effect for me, but I probably wouldn't have had crisps and teacake at the same time. Hope you don't have to go through this again!

When its the first time sometimes people dont think and just grab what they feel fit, theres time to look back after the event and change things next time round(hopefully it wont happen though)

I do relate to what you said Steff and also didn't think to much at the time but hell have learn't lesson and don't want to feel like this again.
Just taking it easy and sipping water up to about a litre now and will test in a while. I'm starting to get hunger pangs but worried about eating or what to eat at this stage, trying to leave it a while maybe?

Getting there Willsmum 🙂

Hi Sazz, one of the worst culprits for high blood sugars are banana's. They are carb laden also the riper they are the higher the sugar/carb content.
