I have type 2 diabetes also have Breast cancer so half way though chemo , but my question does anyone use a Tens machine to help with the pain in there legs and feet going numb.

Hello @domoniques and welcome to the forum. I hope yur recovery goes smoothly and you are soon back up to speed again.

There's no reason not to use a TENS machine because you have diabetes 🙂

Hi @domoniques.

You can use a TENS machine without any problem. You just need to figure out the best place to fit the pads. I use mine daily, for left hip and knee pain. I’ve never had any diabetic neuropathy, but I do have an unrelated motor neuropathy.

What the TENS machine won’t do is affect the numbness, and you will have to do one leg at a time, even if it’s a dual channel machine because you’ll need all four of the pads on the leg. I have two identical TENS machines, and have on occasion been wired up on both hip and knee.

The effect of the machines is persistent for a variable time, so a max of one and half hours should give persisting relief for a few hours.

All the best for the rest of your treatment, I hope all goes well.
