Relationship to Diabetes
Parent of person with diabetes
My son was diagnosed 10 years ago when he was 4 and is now as a teenager finding it very difficult to cope. His sugar levels are rarely below 6. Does anyone have any advice as he is finding it very difficult to talk to me being non-diabetic?

Are there any parents with children of the same age having problems with being different or peer pressure?

Im 20 but have been diagnosed since I was 15, if i can be any help feel free to send me a message.

Hiya, I was diagnosed at age 8, and went through a stage of not talking to anyone about it - and then full blown rebellion. Drop me a PM and I'll see what I can do help, having been through it myself at that age. The teenage years and diabetes are a difficult thing to handle, hormones and whatnot, wanting to be like friends yet having to deal with this day in, day out...it's not easy. Like I say, drop me a PM and I'll give you a hand.
