hi
New to the forum but not new to diabetes. Had it years and is usually high rather than low. This morning, felt really wobbly and became very sweaty. In Tesco so ate a banana and a biscuit but felt odd all day since not really use to this feeling. Not very good at managing my diabetes so only myself to blame really. Suppose I have been complacent. Too many years with bad eating habits and need a kick I think

Welcome old blue
I'm quite a fresh man to forum , I can't tolerate banana for some reason as I found out yesterday by my readings , all I can say is I hope you take this as a reminder how important it is for us guys and galls to do our bit by watching what we put into our bodies and that the meds our doctors give us are not going to give us a miracle cure , I really hope you can get back on track soon and start feeling better , please don't think I'm lecturing as I am only starting to learn about living with diabetes T2 and fear the complications that can in time develop if we don't all try to look after our sugar levels ,have a nice evening

Well of course, James is right in his thinking - we all have to look after ourselves Old Blue - cos nobody else can do it for us.

Whether you can get strips prescribed or not - you really need to think about funding them yourself and give it very serious consideration at that. Only by testing yourself, can you ascertain day to day what your blood glucose is doing and make informed predictions about what it might do in 45 minutes time, halfway round Tesco's !
