Hello Forum, My name is Clive diagnosed TYPE 2 in July 2017, weighing over 17st now weighing 9st 9lb, no longer taking Medication for Diabetes, only Self Monitor when feeling weird.
Still having blurred vision, Dispite 3 pairs of really good new glasses. Dizziness daily, awful itch on my back, neck, shoulder and back ache, hands feel swollen, feet in good condition but having stabbing pains, started with a swollen throat at Xmas, had a Blood Test for Thyroids, came back negative, plus PSA clear and Blood Glucose out of Diabetes Range 31.Waiting for an appointment for the hospital Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic, 8weeks waiting just to get an appointment to contact them to make an appointment, so still waiting and getting more unwell.
Unsure how to describe my Diabetes and worried the Weight Loss has caused Kidney Damage last checked July 2017. Would I still suffer Diabetes Hypo's and Hyper's, blurred vision and Dizzy spell and tireness. even though no longer in Diabetes Range, Cheers Clive55555 PS TAKE ALOT OF HEART MEDICATION

Hi Clive, sorry to learn about the symptoms you've been experiencing but great to hear that your BG is reduced to 31, is this HbA1c? What was your BG level when diagnosed and what meds were you on?
Was your weight loss journey, supervised by your healthcare team? Also have you discussed your symptoms with them? It would be good to know a bit more about your meds and BG history, as blurred vision and dizzy spells would be less likely at your current BG, but it depends on what your level was before, at diagnosis.
Also some of your symptoms sound as if they could relate to something else and not necessarily typical of Diabetes complications. It's good to hear you have appointments coming up, keep us updated!

Hi Hannah, My HbA1c was 111 in July/August 2017. Metformin 500mg 2X Daily, Gliclazide 80mg Once Daily, Health loss monitored by Hospital and Health Care, but have been unmonitored recently and dropped below target weight. I have introduced High Protein Foods and extra Calories, weight nearly stable, for my 61years and 5ft 7 statue. My problem is I have a dry throat, so my old Diabetes Thirst is back, and I am drinking nearly 3litres of water per day, which makes me go to the loo a lot , like before when my Diabetes was unmonitored, Not sure who to contact, am I still a Diabetes Patient or what? No point making appointment to see Doctor I am waiting for Hospital appointment. When I self monitor my reading are 4.5 - 5.9. With having contact with you, I am thinking that at SEVEN STONE drop in weight ,my Heart Medication may need adjusting for someone 9st 9lbs. See it's good to have contact, if my hospital appointment doesn't come through soon will make an appointment to have my Medication Reviewed. I couldn't work out what could be happening, so thanks for contact chatting about it to someone really helps. Cheers Clive555555

It’s possible that you are over medicated from a heart point of view, particularly if you are on BP medication, which could account for the dizziness. With such a significant weight loss you might have a slight electrolyte imbalance, and possible vitamin deficiency. You really need a complete MoT, particularly with your heart team.

Apart from that, well done with the weight loss, great effort🙂

HI MIKEY B, YEAH you are correct, will have to remember to make an appointment with a Doctor, I keep forgetting, maybe now I have chatted and had contact I will remember. Cheers MickyB all the the best clive55555

Glad that this contact was helpful Clive and hopefully you will remember to book that appointment now :D
Well done on your huge reduction of your HbA1c and in coming off your medication. Hopefully a check with your GP regarding the quantities of your other medication will have some impact in improving how you are feeling.
