Hi @ChrisFyfe, we hope you are managing! How are you finding the reversal program? Our Helpline is always available if you wanted a chat or to talk things through 🙂

Hi - diagnosed in August. My GP has gone off sick so I am a bit at a loss. Also had to stop metformin because of side effects - on GP's recommendation. So let's see!

What is the basis of the 'Reversal program', Low carb?, Shakes? Both are ways that people here have followed so you should find support and answers to any questions you may have. What is your HbA1C as that gives an indication of your starting point and how much work you need to do.
If it is a low carb regime this link may help you with some ideas.
Metformin is not tolerated by everyone but sticking to the dietary regime which you would have needed to do anyway should help.

Low carb - 100g per day. If I take significantly less I feel unwell.
I retested in January so my HbA1c is 5.9% (DCCT aligned) and MMOL/MOL is 41. I am not sure what this means but both are at the top of the normal range, I am told. Was 12.7% / 116 in September 2021.

That looks like a fantastic result. Your Sept test showed you were very high and well into diabetic zone. But the recent result puts you at the top end of Normal.
Below 42mmol/mol is normal. Anything between 42 and 47mmol/mol would put somebody as prediabetic or at risk and over 48mmol/mol is the diagnostic level for diabetes so you can see you were well into the zone.
Once diagnosed then although your level is normal it still need vigilance to keep it there. Your dietary regime has clearly worked for you. If you have weight you need to lose then continuing with what you are going should work for you.
The units used now are mmol/mol, % is how results used to be given.

Well done of your excellent HbA1c reduction @ChrisFyfe

Whatever you are doing is clearly working well for you!

Welcome to the forum 🙂

That’s pretty good, we’ll done.
