Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi.
At the age of 72, I have recently been diagnosed with borderline diabetes. This was discovered after a visit to my GP that checked my blood pressure and sent me for a blood test. Also at the same time apart from the high blood pressure, also an under active thyriod.

It all seems to be happening after I was diagnosed with Prostate cancer in late 2008. (I had the prostate removed and all is OK now.)

There are questions that I need to ask and will do so on the relivent threads.

Hi Macj, welcome. Are you sure they said Type 1 diabetes, at 72 it is more likely to be Type 2 if newly discovered. What tests did they do to diagnose it?

Ooops! Sorry I am type 2, so the memsab says. My mistake, I shall change it.
as for the tests. Just a normal fasting blood test.
