At risk of diabetes
Diabetes is in my family and my mum has lost her sight as a result. So receiving an HBA1C result of 49 was a wake up call for me at beginning of August. Six weeks later , my result was 44 with a loss of 22 lbs in weight. Still a way to go with still so much to learn so looking forward to being part of this community and continuing the journey to reducing my score even further.

You only need to reduce your Hba1c a few more points to be normal - just watch your carb intake and you should be fine. Sorry to read about your mum, but it seems all too common.

Hi @Amoss
you doing well, with weight loss and change of diet, with your determination you will beat this, personally speaking I felt much better after losing weight and bringing BG levels under control.
By the way I had a HbA1c of 77 to start with, after advice from people here, I had it down to 35 within 3 months, although that’s not possible for everyone as our bodies are all different ..
Best Wishes
M.

Hello @Amoss and welcome to our forum.

You are very wise indeed to listen to the 'wake-up' call and set out on such a successful plan of action.
What eating plan are you following that is producing such good results with your weight loss?

Are there any particular things that you would like to know more about at present? If so please ask away and we will always try to help.

Congratulations @Amoss . You have just taken control of your health and are doing great !

Well done @ Amos’s on the steps that you have already taken.
There is plenty of help and advice on here.
Just fire away with any questions that you have.
